Breast cancer is a common cancer, with about 1 in 8 women diagnosed in their lifetime. White women have the highest rates of new breast cancer cases, but Black women face higher risks for developing more aggressive forms and a higher risk of dying from the disease. Risk increases with age, with most invasive breast cancers found in women 55 and older.
